The Republican Wing of the Republican Party

There is momentum building in our country. We can lead it, or watch it pass us by…

We posted this in July. It is as true today as it was then, maybe even more so. Since that time we have rallied, attended town hall meetings, even marched on Washington, D.C. We haven't let up, and we aren't going to until we have restored our Great Nation to her rightful place.

We have an opportunity coming up to meet together, recharge our batteries, and come back into the fight full force. That opportunity is our National Convention. Don't miss it. The stakes are too high.

If America is angry at Obama. If even 30% of American is angry at Obama it didn’t show at the Dallas tea party. It was a motley group. Not that many chairs. Half of them empty. Not much energy.

Keep telling yourself that. You may even start to believe it.

I was at the tea party here in tiny Longview, TX, and what I saw was truly remarkable. People who’ve been largely apolitical their entire lives have decided to get involved for the first time.

On April 15th, Longview was the tea party for 7 counties. This year, 3 of those counties had their own events. There were 42 of these IN TEXAS ALONE.

But what’s really exciting is what is happening at them. I walked around and talked to people. Like the couple who had never been involved in politics, but who have set up a We The People chapter in Longview. And the couple who did the same in even smaller, neighboring Kilgore. They had tables set up, and signed up literally dozens of new potential activists at the July 4th tea party. A web site infrastructure is in place, contacts are being made, events are scheduled….stuff is happening. Conservatives are DOING SOMETHING instead of just listening to K-Street talking heads and complaining.

These aren’t “party people.” I’m sure most have voted GOP, but there wasn’t an office holder to be found. And when you talked with folks, you realized they’re as disgusted with the betrayal of the GOP as they are with the Dems - maybe more so.

Meetings are being scheduled. Strategies are being mapped. There’s a team, for example, working on helping out in districts that are “close calls” politically. And the signature pitch of the committed activist abounded: “Tell your friends. Bring just one like-minded neighbor. If they’ve upset with what’s going on, thell them they have an obligation to get involved!”

Again, these aren’t pols -these are ordinary folks who see their country and their freedom going down the drain and are committed to doing something about it while they can.

I have a hunch the September 12th event in DC is going to be something spectacular. I must have talked to 10 people yesterday who plan to be there. In Longview, Texas!

Yes, something really different is happening. Hey, I myself have always voted…and I’ve blogged and visited sites like this and Free Republic. But I’ve never worked a campaign. And until April 15th I’d never even attended a political rally. I’ve been too busy having a career. Shame on me….but no longer! If the country is going to go down the tubes, I want to at least say I did what I could to stop it.

But, hey, lgm, keep thinking it’s nothing of note. That’s just fine with me. I imagine you’ll keep thinking that way until, oh, about November 4th of next year.

Let that soak in for a moment.

What is happening here?

  • People who have never attended ANY party function or participated in any way other than voting are upset at what the statists are doing to our country.
  • Those people are attending Tea Parties because they want to get involved.
  • Heck, some of them are ORGANIZING the Tea Parties!
  • They are signing up with whoever is there, or creating their own organizations.
  • Are we, the Republican Assemblies, taking advantage of this moment? I know that in many cases, we are. But I also know that there are big gaps. We need to fill them. We aren't a startup, we have systems and beliefs and people in place. We need to do better.

We are grassroots. We are city, county, state, and national.

Are you reading this but don't know where a local Republican Assembly is, or who to talk to? We can help you find them. We can help you start a Republican Assembly if you don't have one. We are here for YOU!!!

Don't put this off. Don't leave it for someone else to do.

The time is now. The person is me, the person is you. We can do this together. The fight is now.

Here are some resources if you are looking for someone to contact for help working with, or starting a Republican Assembly:

We are here. We are with you. Let's take our country back starting right now.
