ANGLE RECEIVES COVETED NFRA ENDORSEMENT
DESTIN, FLORIDA, May 20, 2010—The National Federation of Republican Assemblies (NFRA), one of America’s oldest and largest conservative groups, today officially endorsed Sharron Angle in the 2010 race for U.S. Senate in Nevada.
NFRA President Rod D. Martin was jubilant in endorsing Angle: “Sharon Angle is uniquely qualified to beat Harry Reid and to serve in the U.S. Senate, and she has proven time and time again that she will uphold true conservative values for the citizens of Nevada and the nation.”
NFRA National Secretary Jennifer McCarty agreed: “Sharron Angle exemplifies the mission of the NFRA: she fights for small government, lower taxes, free market capitalism, a strong defense, the right to life and a decent America. And Sharron doesn’t just talk a good game, she follows through on her beliefs, and takes seriously her oath to the Constitution. We just wish we had another Sharron Angle in every Senate race in America.”
The National Federation of Republican Assemblies, dubbed "the Republican Wing of the Republican Party", is a 75-year old grassroots organization which seeks to elect genuine conservatives to lead the Republican Party. The NFRA proudly endorses candidates in contested primaries, through a rigorous process requiring a two-thirds vote of the grassroots, ensuring that Republicans know who the true conservative candidates are in every election. Prominent past and present members include Ronald Reagan, Eagle Forum founder Phyllis Schlafly, actress Jane Russell, Minutemen founder Chris Simcox and pro-gun anti-tax kingpin Grover Norquist.“Republicans win when they’re true to their principles,” Martin said. “That’s why we’re excited about Sharron Angle, the most principled conservative in this race. We’re proud to stand with her, in the primary and all the way to Washington.”
