About Mike McNamara

Mike McNamara is the NFRA's South Central Region Vice President, and since 2003 has also served as President of the Texas Republican Assembly.  After serving his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and graduating from the University of Texas in 1976, Mike has been active in a variety of civic and political involvments for three decades.  Among these is his outstanding community service through the Texas Jaycees, in which he currently serves as an elected member of the Jaycees Education Foundation, and has previously been named Outstanding Local President, Outstanding District Director in Texas, Outstanding District Director in the Nation, and Jaycee's highest honor, Jaycees International Senator.  He is a past president of his neighborhood association, past Pro-Life chair for his parish, and an active member of the American Legion and the National Rifle Association.

Politically, Mike has been similarly active at every level of Texas politics, working on numerous campaigns for U.S. Senate, House, Governor, state legislature and a variety of local and party offices as well.  He was elected a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 2004 and 2008, and, in addition to his work organizing the Republican Assembly movement in Texas and the South Central Region, Mike also initiated the annual Texas Conservative Conference in 2007.  He is married to Julia McNamara, with whom he has four married children and seven grandchildren.
